Over 60 trophies won by Red Bull Racing have been stolen from the team’s factory, by six men who used a 4×4 with foreign number plates to ram through the entrance.
The Formula 1 team’s principal, Christian Horner, says they are devastated by the break-in, as the trophies had taken years of hard work to accumulate.
Authorities say night staff working at the factory were not harmed, although the break in did cause significant damage.
Its still uncertain why anyone would take the trophies, which Horner says is of very low intrinsic value, adding that many of the trophies on display there were replicas.
Horner also said that its likely the team will now consider making their site less accessible in the future, which he says will be unfair on the hundreds of fans that travel to visit their factory each year to view the trophies and their F1 car.
