Kimi Raikkonen has declared his excitement at the prospect of working with four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel, who will be racing for Ferrari in the 2015 calendar.
The Iceman has a well documented friendship with Vettel, and he thinks that this partnership will be able to produce quality results for Ferrari, as far as the races are concerned.
“He (Vettel) has not changed since he signed. He is the same old friend of mine. With the help of the team, we will try and push Ferrari in the right direction and to the position it deserves,” Raikkonen said.
Despite being a traditional powerhouse, Ferrari has struggled to perform at the highest level in recent years, even finishing fourth in the constructor’s standings this year.
That being said, Raikonnen claims to be impressed with what he’s seen in the Ferrari’s pipelines and believes that their vehicle will be able to compete for honours next year.
“This year was a difficult one me, for the team. Ferrari normally expects to win championships.Next year, the car will be a lot better as a package. Let’s wait and see. I am sure the future will be bright. We have to believe in what we are doing, it will take some time.”
