BAM coaches in talks over contract renewal

The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) will undergo an interview session with some of the existing Malaysian national coaches to decide on whether they have a future within the local badminton scene.

BAM secretary Ng Chin Chai mentioned that the panel will review the overall performances of the coaches’ whose contracts will end this year, to determine if they should renew their contracts for 2015.

The coaches’ whose contracts will end this year include singles coach Rashid Sidek, Wong Tat Meng, Tey Seu Bock and doubles coaches Pang Cheh Chang and Rosman Razak.

“It is an appraisal session, several panelist will have a session to talk to the coaches. It is basically a time of review.” said Ng Chin Chai told the Star.

Meanwhile, former Indonesian great Rexy Mainaky had a recent discussion with BAM president Tan Sri Mahaleel Tengku Arif on the possibility of returning to coach the national team. However, no decision has been finalized yet.
