Del Potro set to make a comeback next month

Juan Martin del Potro is set to make his comeback at the Brisbane International, which kicks off on January 4th. 

The former world number 4 has not played since being forced to retire due to a left wrist injury at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on February 25th.

He underwent surgery soon after, on March 24th.

The Argentine will make his debut in Brisbane alongside Roger Federer, Kei Nishikori, Milos Raonic, Marin Cilic, Grigor Dimitrov and defending champion, Lleyton Hewitt. .

In this year’s final, Hewitt topped Federer 6-1, 4-6, 6-3, earning his first ATP World Tour title since 2010.

The event has also attracted a stellar women’s field with Top 10 stars Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic, Angelique Kerber, Dominika Cibulkova all set to kick off their 2015 campaigns in Brisbane.
