Jack Miller took two seconds off his best lap time on the second day of his MotoGP test with Honda at the Sepang International Circuit.
The Moto3 World Champion, who is set to join MotoGP next season, is spending three days in Sepang to get better acquainted with the quicker machine ahead of the winter testing break.
Miller says the second day helped him acquire greater confidence on the bike, resulting in him lapping almost a full two seconds faster.
His best time was a 2min 03.1secs, which as a reference point would have placed him around 18th on the grid for October’s Malaysian Grand Prix.
As a comparison, Nicky Hayden’s lap time on the previous generation Honda was 2m 02.3secs.
Honda’s final test of the year ends tomorrow at Sepang, with the 19 year-old hoping to get in a couple of long runs to test out his fitness over a race distance.
