Cricket fans from around the world have joined together in paying tribute to Australian cricket player Philip Hughes, who passed away earlier today after a tragic incident two days ago.
While playing in a Sheffield Shield match in Sydney, Hughes was hit by a bouncer from New South Wales’ Sean Abbott, and immediately collapsed on the pitch.
He was then rushed to the St. Vincent hospital, and underwent an emergency surgery. Upon completion of the surgery, he was induced into coma and placed on breathing aid. However after 48 hours, Hughes tragically passed away earlier today.
Philip Hughes RIP an absolute tragedy. To die playing a sport is just horrible-that poor bowler is going to need a lot of support.Really sad
