Dollah remains defiant despite loss to Thailand

Malaysian head coach Dollah Salleh has assured fans that they are not ready to throw in the towel just yet, claiming that the players will be fired up for the decider against Singapore this weekend.

Malaysia suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Thailand earlier today, which was incredibly heartbreaking due to the fact that Thai scored a last gasp winner on the 90th minute to complete a majestic comeback.

However, Dollah rejected any claims of him not being happy with his troops, adding on that he was only frustrated with the result at the end of the match.

“I’m happy with the performance, but disappointed with the result,” Dollah told reporters after the game.

“We still haven’t finished yet and we have that deciding game this weekend. I promise nothing but effort and I know we will fight to the end against Singapore.”

Amri Yahya opened the scoring for Malaysia in the first half, before Adisak Kraisorn equalized just before the break. Safiq Rahim restored Malaysia’s lead on the 60th minute, though their joy was short lived as Charyl Chappuis scored on the 72nd minute to level the score.

And as the game looked set to end in a draw, Adisak scored his second of the night, to complete a terrific comeback win; leaving head coach Senamuang extremely delighted.

“The players never gave up, even when we were losing. It was a fantastic game and I’m delighted we have maximum points from our first two games,” he said.

Malaysia will face Singapore this weekend, while Thailand will take on Myanmar. Both games are slated for an 8pm kick off.
