A managerial change is likely to take place within Selangor FA next month, with current head coach Mehmet Durakovic edging closer towards an exit from the Red Giants.
The former Australian international has been under severe tension over the last few months, due to Selangor’s inconsistent performances, which led to them exiting the Malaysia Cup at the hands of Felda United, including an initial 4-0 defeat in the first leg.
According to our sources, it now seems that the Red Giants are ready to let him go, with assistant coach P. Maniam being promoted as the new head coach for the 2015 season of Malaysian football.
But beyond that, current Selangor Chief Minister, Dato’ Azmin Ali, is set to become to new Selangor FA president, in a move to revamp the structure and solve existing issues that have been beleaguering the state team.
Paulo Rangel recently claimed that the management were not processing salary payments accordingly, and his public outcry raised plenty of hostile reactions from fans towards the Selangor FA.
Azmin Ali’s appointment though, would be a statement of intent from their side, to reassure fans and investors alike, that they are keen on leaving no stones unturned ahead of the 2015 Super League season.
