Exclusive: Kelantan desperate to keep hold of Brendan Gan

Kelantan FA are reportedly in a tensed battle to keep hold of their midfield star, Brendan Gan, with the upcoming season of Malaysian football looming closer.

Brendan has been the subject of intense speculation over the last few weeks, with a certain side from the south of the country, keen on acquiring his services.

The former Central Coast Mariners midfielder was in stellar form throughout 2014, becoming a key fulcrum of George Boateng’s midfield set-up. But despite the Red Warriors announcing that Brendan Gan is very much in their plans for next season, they now face a battle to keep hold of him.

However, it also seems that they are willing to go gung ho in their efforts. According to our sources, Kelantan are set to offer Brendan a bumper pay rise, as well as the captaincy to ideally convince him to remain with them as far as 2015 is concerned.

Brendan has not made an official decision yet, though the new offer from Kelantan is certainly a statement of intent as to how much they value his presence within the squad.
