Kobe Bryant set a record for the most missed shots in NBA history, after banking the ball for the 13,418th time.
The Los Angeles Lakers star surpassed the number set by Boston Celtics forward, John Havlicek on the all-time missed-field-goals list.
He’s not the first top player to be on the list, as the infamous honour has also gone to several other greats, including Michael Jordan in sixth place, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in fifth, and Karl Malone in fourth.
Bryant could also be surpassed by current active players such as Vince Carter, Kevin Garnett and Dirk Nowitzki, who are all lingering outside the top 10 list.
When asked about the record, Bryant simply said he wasn’t aware of it.
“Well, I’m a shooting guard that’s played 19 years. Like I said, ‘shooting’ guard, 19th year.” said Bryant, as he smiled and shrugged his new honour off.
“It is what it is. I remember when I was a kid and I watched Michael shoot 49 times in an NBA Finals game. Can you imagine if I did that and lost? Puts things in perspective.”
