Exclusive: Billy Mehmet to sign for Sarawak

Sarawak FA are on the verge of completing a deal to secure the signature of Irish forward, Billy Mehmet.

The Crocs are currently strengthening their squad ahead of the upcoming Super League season, and they have been on the lookout for a new striker to partner current forward, Ryan Griffiths.

Matias Conti was rumoured to be on Robert Albert’s shortlist, but after confirmation of the Argentine’s decision to stay with Pahang, Sarawak shifted their attention to Billy

According to our sources, the Crocs have been negotiating extensively with Billy, and they have apparently reached a consensus, though minor details are yet to be ironed out.

Billy represents a massive coup for Sarawak, considering that he was in fiery form for Kedah last season. The ex-Perth Glory forward scored 23 goals in 26 games, which is a massive statistic, putting him as the second highest goalscorer in Malaysian football this year.

Besides Billy, the Crocs have already snapped up Nazri Kamal and J. Parthiban from Perak, as well as Sabri Sahar from Sabah FA.
