In the Dugout with Aysha Ridzuan: Alfadli Awaluddin (Part 2)

He’s probably the most outspoken supporter Malaysian football has ever had. Al Fadli Awaludin, better known as Fad, was the main man behind ‘Presiden FAM Sila Letak Jawatan’ (PFSLJ) – a movement calling for Sultan Ahmad Shah, the former FAM President to step down after 30 years in charge. But beyond that, Fad also plays an influential role within the Ultras Malaya and Ultras Selangor movements, and was part the group that confronted the Selangor players prior to their Malaysia Cup tie against Felda United last month.

In Part 1 of the interview, we spoke to him about the changes that have taken place within the local football scene, and how FAM have the opportunity to further propagate those changes. This time around, Fad moves into deeper matters. Last month, he led a group of Selangor fans and confronted the Selangor players during their training session, demanding for explanation following their 4-0 loss to second division side Felda United. The move sparked plenty of controversy around the nation, as video started going viral. Players claimed that they lost form, but in Part 2 of our exclusive interview, he shares his take on issue, and questions the possibility of bookies being actively involved in the local scene.
