Lee Chong Wei has thanked his fans for standing by him, amidst his doping scandal.
This, after news of his B sample test coming back positive was officially announced by Khairy Jamaluddin over the weekend.
Lee tested positive for Dexamethasone, which is used to aid an athlete’s rehabilitation, and is now facing the possibility of being suspended from the sport for the next two years.
In a post on his official Facebook page, the world number one shuttler had this to say:
Lee has been temporarily suspended from taking part in any tournaments, until his hearing with the Badminton World Federation sometime soon.
His fans meanwhile, took to social media to express their faith and support for him.
