BAM appoint new National Development manager

The Badminton Association of Malaysia has appointed a new national development manager to boost and further nurture more youth talents within the sport.

The candidate who was picked for the position is no stranger to the local badminton scene, with former national doubles player Joanne Quay being tasked with the position.

Joanne will be in charge of the junior development program that is based at the Bukit Jalil Stadium, and she will also be working with state level initiatives to boost the quality of the game.

Having retired after the 2007 World Championship, Joanne pursued a degree in Sports Business Management before working as a development officer with the Badminton World Federation.

Joanne’s appointment comes after BAM announced the arrival of a new technical director in the form of Morten Frost Hansen, in what seems to be a comprehensive effort to revive the local badminton scene.
