Caroline Wozniacki makes NYC Marathon debut

World number 8 tennis star, Caroline Wozniacki can be extremely proud of herself, after completing the 26.2 mile New York Marathon, under four hours last weekend.

Wozniacki, who had never ran beyond 13 miles in any training sessions before, completed the run in an impressive time of 3:26:33; averaging at about 7.50 mile/hour.

But the more impressive bit is that her completion raised approximately $80,000 for a charity organization that organizes fitness programs, Team for Kids.

“I’ve never tried anything this hard,” Wozniacki said after being greeted by Serena Williams at the finishing line.

“This was the toughest physical test I’ve ever (had). It’s so hard. You have to keep going, keep going. Once I got onto First Avenue, I had a camera crew following me the whole day, so I couldn’t walk. I had to keep running.”

Her exceptional time means that she’s officially qualified to run in the 2016 Boston Marathon, though Wozniacki was quick to say that she doesn’t intend to run in any marathons for the next few years.
