A football team from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom were on the verge of securing actual sponsorship from renowned Porn website, Pornhub.com, before the management stepped in to prevent it from happening.
Rutherford Raiders, a team from the particular university, were finding it hard to secure sponsorship for the team, before they decided to cheekily put the logo of Pornhub.com on their jerseys.
Their publicity stunt was relatively effective as it reached out to the management of Pornhub.com, who then went on to actually declare interest in sponsoring the team.
However, the University was quick to step in to put an end to speculations, claiming that such sponsorships are extremely inappropriate.
In a statement released by the University of Kent, they said:
“The University of Kent sports department would never sanction sponsorship of this type – it is totally inappropriate.
“The team has been spoken with and will not be allowed to wear the shirts in question at any time.
“We take this issue very seriously and inter-college sports teams, which are the responsibility of Kent Sport, must present any potential sponsorship and/or logos for approval.”
