Roger Federer won the Swiss Indoors title in his home city of Basel for a sixth time, after smashing Belgium’s David Goffin 6-2,6-2 in the finals.
The world number two broke his opponent twice in each set to win in just under an hour.
The Swiss, who was contesting his 11th Basel final, won his sixth title in eight years and first, since 2011. He captured his 82nd tour-level trophy overall, extending his win streak to 12 straight after emerging victorious at the Shanghai Rolex Masters earlier this month.
In total, Federer has won six titles or more at six tournaments.
Tournaments With Six Or More Titles Titles

His victories also helped boost his chances of overtaking Novak Djokovic to finish 2014 at the top of the world rankings.
The 17-time Grand Slam champion has won all of his last 12 matches, and has moved to within 500 points of Djokovic in the ATP standings.
A total of 1,000 points will go to the winner of the Paris Masters, which kicks off today, and a further 1,500 to the champion at the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals in London, which starts on November 9th.
