China conquered the Yonex Denmark Open, claiming all five titles as their own.
World No.2 Chen Long defeated South Korea’s Wan Ho Son in straight sets 21-17, 22-20, in the men’s singles final. This, as top speed Li Xuerui won the women’s singles final after defeating her compatriot Wang Yihan.
The mixed doubles final was a clash between Chinese players Ma Jin / Xu Chen and Indonesia’s Tontowi Ahmad / Liliyana Natsir. The Chinese pair finally triumphed with a 22-20, 21-15 win.
Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang also won the women’s doubles title, beating Japanese rivals Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi 21-14, 21-14.
Fu Haifeng / Zhang Nan then perfected the day for China by upsetting top seeds and title-holders Lee Yong Dae / Yoo Yeon Seong, 21-13, 25-23. Fu / Zhang managed to snatch the title from the world No. 1, to book their first ever Superseries title as a duo.
