Las Vegas could be set for a return to the Formula One race calendar with talks between Bernice Ecclestone’s franchise and Formula One track designer Herman Tilke progressing quickly.
The last F1 race to be held in Las Vegas was back in 1982, but this time around, a new site appears to have been identified, and Herman himself has endorsed the location and it’s ability to host an exciting track.
Reports suggests that the track is likely to be situated at the Northern End of the strip, where the Champ Car series race was held back in 2007. The location is apparently strategic enough to host a Formula One event, considering that it’s not affected by major casino traffic.
With Mexico set to debut in the Formula One calendar next year, it appears that 2017 could most likely see Las Vegas making its long-awaited return to the circuit.
