Valentino Rossi admits he’s worried of losing his second place position in the championship to either his teammate, Jorge Lorenzo or Repsol Honda rival, Dani Pedrosa, with 3 races left for the season.
The Italian ace says he has his eyes on Lorenzo in particular, who he admits is “very fast”.
His experience however is expected to benefit him during this weekend’s battle, as Rossi is one of the most successful riders at the Phillip Island circuit. The nine-time World champion has conquered the Australian track from 2001 until 20015, claimed second place in 2008 and 2009, and scored five third places in 200, 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2013.
Rossi is also scheduled to become the first rider to reach 250 starts in the premier class of Grand Prix racing. The Yamaha rider tops the list of riders with most GP starts in the premier class, which also includes Alex Barros (245 starts), Loris Capirossi (217), Colin Edwards (196) and Nicky Hayden (195).
