Celtic’s Joel Anthony claims “Its not about the money”

Joel Anthony has the seventh-highest salary at the Boston Celtics, even though he is not even in the top 10 when it comes to rotation.

The 32-year-old center however, is determined to be of value to the Celtics this season. His chance to contribute however suffered a setback when he picked up a groin injury prior to the start of training camp.

Meanwhile, he stressed that he agreed to join the Celtics not because of the money, but because he wanted an opportunity to get a chance to prove himself and get on the court.

Anthony arrived last January from the Miami Heat, in the three-team trade that sent Jordan Crawford and MarShon Brooks to the Golden State Warriors. He has to date gotten into 21 games for the Celtics, averaging one point and 1.5 rebounds in 7.1 minutes.
