David Ferrer is working to qualify for a spot in the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals once again, by making his first trip in 10 years to the Erste Bank Open next week.
The 32-year-old will be the top seed in Vienna, with 594 match wins and 3,715 points, a mere 35 behind Milos Raonic. Ferrer would need to advance to the final to add to his total.
Ferrer has been in decent form of late, dispatching Andy Murray in the third round of the ongoing Shanghai Masters. However, the Spaniard was sent packing in the quarters by two-times reigning ATP World Tour champion, Novak Djokovic
A trio of ATP World Tour 250 level tournaments will be held in Moscow, Stockholm and Vienna this coming week, with multiple race contenders competing at each event.
