Indian shuttler cruises into quarters of Dutch Open

Indian badminton player Ajay Jayaram secured a spot in the quarter finals of the on-going Dutch Open, after securing a comfortable straight victory over Hong Kong’s Chun Hei Tam in the previous round.

21 minutes was all it took the 13th seed to comfortably dispatch Chun at the Topsportcentrum Almere, with a score line of 11-5, 11-6, 11-4.

Awaiting him in the last eight is Indonesian shuttler Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka Friday, who is seeded third in the tournament. The 25 year-old from Kulon Progo Regency also cruised into the quarters, courtesy of a comfortable 11-6 11-6 11-4 victory over Ari Trisnanto of Germany.

In another news, Saina Nehwal has been seeded fifth for the upcoming French Open Super Series, which is scheduled to be held in Paris later this month.
